Abiodun Commiserates With Obaigbena, This Day Publisher Over Mum’s Death

Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commiserated with the publisher of This Day Newspapers and Chairman of the Arise Television, Nduka Obaigbena, over the demise of his mother, Princess Margaret Obaigbena.

Madam Obaigbena breathed her last on Thursday June 16, 2022 at a London hospital.

The Royal Obaigbena Family of Owa Kingdom, Delta State announced her passing on Friday.

The deceased who died at the age of 88 worked as a Nursing Officer with the former Bendel State Government before transferring her services to the then newly created Delta State Government.

Mourning the passage of the Martriach of Obaigbena’s dynasty, Governor Abiodun, in statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, described the deceased as a woman of substance, thoroughbred caregiver and great influencer of social justice while alive.

He noted that Madam Obaigbena contributed immensely to the development of her immediate community and Delta state, through her profession and passion for development of womenfolk.

The Governor said that though the deceased passed on at the ripe age of 88, the vacuum she left behind will not be easy to fill.

Abiodun, however, urged the Obaigbena Family, particularly, Nduka, to take solace in the fact that their mother lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.

The Governor, the statement adds, prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed.

He also prayed God to give the Obaigbena’s Family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
