Emergence of a talented 14year Old Kid Comedian who is making wave globally

The boy is born into a poor family of a taxi driver father, and a petty trader mother, Abeokuta indigenes and resident in Ita-Bayinbo, Ijemo area of the ancient town.  Rilwan today has brought fame into the family as a result of his comedy act, while numbers of his stage performances have gone viral on social media.

Penpushing findings showed that, the kid comedian is unique on the field, and also distinguish his talent among his colleagues, with the use of Egba dialect, as his trade mark, to bring smiles into faces of his fans, across Nigeria and beyond.

In an exclusive interview with Penpushing after his show at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, monthly get together for the children, he explained his journey into the comedy world, and how he ensured, the act does not affect his education.

Penpushing further findings also showed that, his talent and skill has equally earned him a scholarship, offered him by a lawyer who watched some of his comedy video clips. He was attending , Nawairdeen  Grammar School, a public institution in Abeokuta, before he was moved to a private school, Coralreef College, Abeokuta, with the support of the sponsor.

The kid comedian popularly called, ’Real Joke Omo Egba’, narrated how he started the comedy career, stating that his journey started at age 8, when he was a pupil of Amazon Grace Primary School, in Ita Bayinbo, Abeokuta.

‘I started at age 8 when I was in primary school, and I used to gather my mates to listen to my jokes, and in the course of that, they were enjoying the jokes, and this further propelled me to improve on it, and this has since become part of me’, he said.

Rilman added further that, his choice of using Egba dialect was embraced through one of his teachers, who is into Ewi rendition, and used Egba dialect in the rendition, adding that realizing the uniqueness of the language, he decided to adopt it, as his own style of communication in the comedy industry.

Hear him, ’I started emulating one of my teachers, who is also into Ewi rendition, and uses Egba dialect, which made him unique among others. Having studied this, and the relevance of the dialect, I also adopted it as my official language in cracking jokes’.

The young lad, who expressed optimism to study law, said her parents were not aware of his journey into the comedy, when he started, until when they saw one of his video clips, shown to them by their neighbours.

He said at this stage, the parents were overwhelmed and joyful, and have since being encouraging him, but with a clause that, it should not affect his education, adding that, he is also cautious of the importance of education.

‘My parents were not aware when I ventured into the comedy, until one day, when one of our neghbours showed my video clips on youtube to them, and  they became excited, and said they did not believe they can produce a child that, would make the family popular like this’

‘They have since being in support of it, but said I should not let it affect my education, and am also cautious of this, because I want to read to become a lawyer. Infact, one of my fans, a lawyer who watched my performances on youtube located me and offered me a scholarship and changed my school to a privately owned college, and I am currently in Jss 2

The Manager of the kid comedian, Oladayo Bankole, also added his voice, and told Penpushing how he discovered him, and picked interest to package him well, explaining that, he has been monitoring and following his skill, hence, his resolve to support him adequately.

The 30 year old said as a way to avoid conflict between comedy and education, the kid comedian, is allowed only on Sunday for rehearsal, adding that in the same vein, private teachers were employed for him to attend extra classes after the normal school days work

“I have been observing and monitoring his performances, and as a way to lift him up and bring him into limelight, I decided to take up the role of managing him, and to God be the glory, he has been forging ahead positively’,

He said, he has been invited to many shows, where he dazzles number of guests, but explained that he  also make sure that, the only time he goes  for rehearsal is on Sundays, so that, it does not affect his education, adding that, ‘We have also arranged private teachers for him, after the normal school classes’.

Bankole told Penpushing that, for now, no fee is charge, for him to perform, explaining that, those inviting him for show are given the grace to offer what they can afford, noting that, with time and lot of improvement charges can then be introduced.

He also talked about challenges the comedian faces at shows, which include crowd and fans who are always eager to take photographs with him, as well having handshake in appreciation of his talent and skill which he said radiates on him.

However, at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) show held at the premises of the Superfood, an eatery outlet,located in Ita-Eko area of Abeokuta, he was the star of the day, as he put smiles to faces of the children, as well as their parents
