Coronavirus: FG May Deploy Army, Police To Enforce Social Distancing ―Lai Mohammed

The Federal Government on Monday expressed its readiness to take more stringent measures including using the military and police to enforce social distancing as a way to curb the spread of coronavirus disease.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who addressed the press on developments concerning the disease, said the government will take every lawful means to search for those who may have had contact with those identified to have the disease.

According to him, passengers on domestic flights will now be screened for the virus.

“Even if it takes issuing Executive Orders to enforce compliance and contain the spread, we will not shy away from doing that,” he declared.
