PRESS RELEASE: NTA ABEOKUTA MARKS 40TH ANNIVERSARY

The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA Abeokuta is 40.
In recognition of this milestone and many giant strides of the Station in the broadcast journalism arena, the management and staff of the station is rolling out the drums, with series of activities lined up to celebrate the 40th Anniversary, come October, 17, 2019.

Speaking to Journalists in Abeokuta, the Chairman, Anniversary Committee, Alhaja Azeezat Atinsola, noted that the anniversary celebration will kick off on Saturday, 12th October, 2019 with a Health Walk by 7am.

A Novelty Match between NTA Abeokuta and the Ogun State Television (OGTV) comes up on Tuesday 15th October at MKO Stadium Abeokuta by 4pm

The major highlight of the celebration is the 40th Anniversary Lecture, with the topic ‘Lens and Sound: Television as a Tool for Social Re-orientation and Good Governance’.
It shall be delivered by Prof Oluyemisi Obilade, Former VC Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Ijebu Ode, on 17th October, 2019 by 10am at the Station’s Ogbe premises, in Abeokuta.

Special Jumat Service comes up on Friday 18th October at Central Mosque Kobiti Abeokuta by 1pm, while a Thanksgiving Service comes up on the 20th October, 2019 at Cathedral Church of St. Peters, Ake Abeokuta by 10am.

The event will be rounded off with a visit to the historic Olumo rock on Sunday 20th October, 2019.

Dignitaries, including the Ogun State Governor, H.E. Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, (Okukenu IV), Maiyegun of Egbaland, Chief Olatunde Ayinla Abudu, CFR are expected to grace the grand finale, with NTA Director General, Mallam Yakubu Ibn Muhammed as the Chief Host.
