NTA ABEOKUTA RAMADAN LECTURE: We must tolerate each other, for peace to reign – Oloyede

    

Irrespective of Religion, Faith and ethnicity, Nigerians must tolerate one another in Unity and love for peace to reign in the Country. This was highlighted by the Chief Imam, University of Ibadan Central Mosque, Prof. Abdulrahman Oloyede during NTA Abeokuta Ramadan lecture today Sunday May 20th, 2018 at NTA Abeokuta Ogbe Premises, Abeokuta.

With the theme “Islam, Christianity and National Integration, the 2018 annual Ramadan lecture highlighted the role of religion in peace building and cohesion. The Guest lecturer, Prof. Abdulrahman Oloyede of the University of Ibadan identified lack of in-depth knowledge of religious beliefs as the major cause of the various challenges threatening the peaceful co-existence of the country. He said, for peace to reign everyone must respect the religious beliefs of others.

 

The Chairman of the event, the Baba Adinni of Yoruba Land, Edo and Delta Alhaji Sharafadeen Ishola and the head of the family Tajudeen Ogo Oluwa Alhaji Najeemdeen Jimoh said the security and socio – economic challenges facing the country are not irredeemable.

 

The General Manager NTA Abeokuta Mrs Funmi Wakama said the theme of the annual Ramadan lecture couldn’t  have come at a better time and called on all concerned on religion matters to come together and seek the face of God.
