Governor Abiodun reiterates stance to Support Cooperative Societies.

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated his support for cooperative societies to enhance their entrepreneurial potential so as to empower more residents of Ogun State.

This was made known at the 2019 International Day of Cooperatives Celebration, held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, with the theme, “Coops for Decent Work.”

While addressing all the Cooperatives Societies that graced the event, Abiodun made it known that his administration will collaborate with relevant stakeholders and financial institutions, like the Bank of Industry that are capable of providing credit support to cooperative societies and other micro and medium enterprises in the State.

While urging the cooperative societies to work closely with the government, he assured them of his readiness to support them and ensure that they become successful business enterprises protected by enacted laws.

” As a government, the welfare of workers in our state remains a top priority. Prompt payment of salaries, remittance of deductions to pension fund administrators and other entitlements will occupy the front burner for us. The era of delay in payment of salaries and non- remittance of deductions had finally come to an end. We hold a strong belief that meaningful development can only be achieved with collective efforts between the society and the government, and our administration will ensure an atmosphere that provides adequate motivation for promoting unity irrespective of place, circumstance or birth”, Governor Abiodun said.
