The governorates of Aswan and Luxor witnessed this week the activities of the final workshops to prepare strategic plans “Aswan 2030” and “Luxor 2040”, in cooperation with the technical support project in the Ministry in the field of decentralization and local integrated development with focus at the level Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development.
For her part, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, stressed that these efforts reflect the keenness of the Ministry of Local Development to support the governorates in preparing strategic plans based on community participation, and can be implemented, and are based on realistic indicators that achieve tangible improvement in the quality of the lives of citizens, noting the importance of workshops that were implemented in the two governorates in raising awareness of the effective role that local economic development projects play in creating job opportunities and sustainable income Contributing to the local product and meeting the needs of the population of the main services at the urban and rural level, and the location of the localization of services projects.
In this regard, the workshop that was organized in Aswan Governorate witnessed the preparation of strategic programs and projects for the governorate, in the presence of Eng. Amr Lashin, deputy governor and technical support project headed by Dr. Mohamed Fathi, and a group of experts led by Dr. Faisal Abdel Maqsoud, Dr. Sharifa Maher, and a number of academics and specialists, as well as representatives of the executive and service authorities and civil society institutions, as well as a wide participation of executive leaders and presidents Centers, cities, civil society organizations, civil societies and members of the Social Economic Council in the governorate.
The workshop witnessed the idea of establishing a platform specialized in environmental tourism, promoting tourism in the governorate, and introducing the medium -term plan, which includes 449 projects in several major sectors, namely population and services, local economy, urban development, environmental development, and infrastructure, and the importance of integrating young people in preparing the strategic plan was emphasized.
