The activities of the Entrepreneurship Week were launched from Sunday, April 13th, which will continue until Thursday, April 17, 2025, organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO – Itpo Bahrain).
The week is held under the slogan “Enabling Ideas, Inspiration of Leaders, Leadership of Change”, and aims to link academic knowledge to practical application, and provide a platform for students to present their ideas and turn them into applicable pioneering projects that contribute to supporting the national economy.
The opening ceremony witnessed a distinguished presence of representatives of government and private agencies, local entrepreneurs, a number of successful university graduates, and representatives of international organizations, which gave the event a special momentum that reflects the importance of the role that the university plays in supporting the entrepreneurial environment.
In her speech, Professor Mona Bint Rashid Al Zayani, Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gulf University, confirmed that this event comes at the heart of the institution’s institutional strategy, saying: “We do not celebrate only entrepreneurial ideas, but we also enhance the culture of change and creativity as a life approach. Sustainable. Universities should be factories for ideas, not just institutes for granting certificates. “
For his part, Professor Dr. Muhannad Al -Furas, President of the Gulf University, that entrepreneurship has become a pivotal tool in building the knowledge economy, adding: “We seek at the university to enable the student to be a leader and influential in his environment, and we focus on converting his idea into a project that serves his community. We are constantly working to support programs and initiatives that polish students’ skills, and develop their entrepreneurial ideas.

Hashem Hussein, Head of the Investment and Technology Promotion Office at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, on the importance of partnership with the Gulf University, noting that these partnerships open spacious horizons for students, where he said: “The Gulf University is a successful model for an academic institution that integrates entrepreneurship in the core of the educational process. Through its cooperation with the official authorities and financing institutions, it creates an integrated system that supports the next generation One of the pioneers of business.
D. Mahmoud Al -Zaghoul, Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, that this week translates the college’s vision in linking the scientific curricula to practical reality and market requirements, noting that: “The goal is not only a graduation of a student who holds a certificate, but to prepare a graduate who is able to convert his idea into a pioneering project that causes an impact. Through this week we give students a space for experimenting and interacting with the real work environment, to be actors, not spectators.
Events continue throughout the week, and include an exhibition to display student projects and interactive competitions such as “Shark Tank” simulation, sessions of developing leadership and decision -making skills, in addition to allocating a day for women’s entrepreneurship in partnership with the Supreme Council for Women, and the events conclude on Thursday with a ceremony honoring the distinguished entrepreneurial projects and participating and supportive bodies.
