Dr. Amr Dowidar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, announced the success of the first six operations to expand the Missable valve in the balloon for three cases as part of the presidential initiative to eliminate waiting lists at Tahta General Hospital, with the participation of Professor Reda Mahfouz, Cardius Cardiogram at Alberta University in Canada.

Dowidar stressed that all the capabilities and supplies for operations were provided in coordination with the therapeutic medicine sector at the Ministry of Health and Population, and that these operations are the first of its kind in the governorate hospitals.
Professor Mahfouz explained that ICO was done through the esophagus before the procedure in the heart unit, stressing that the ICO device in Tahta and Al -Mourd Hospital by the Ministry of Health is one of the latest devices in the world.
Dowidar thanked the hospital’s work team, headed by Dr. Ahmed Saber Awaja, director of the hospital, Dr. Amr Helmy, director of the cardiac catheterization unit, Dr. Ahmed Abdel -Ati, and Dr. Imad Qassem, a hospital cardiologist.
This achievement comes under the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Major General Dr. Abdel -Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag and Dr. Peter Wajih, Head of the Therapeutic Welfare Sector at the Ministry of Health.
