His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to continue the perfect achievement in implementing plans, initiatives and environmental programs aimed at protecting the environment and facing the challenges of climate change, in a way that contributes to the sustainability of resources and preserving them to ensure a better future for future generations, in order to achieve the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him.
This came when His Highness headed, at the Riffa Palace today, a meeting to see the latest developments in the national plan for afforestation and the “Quran of Bahrain” initiative, in the presence of a number of happiness with senior officials, as His Highness expressed his appreciation for all the sincere efforts made by those in charge of these initiatives, and his aspiration to continue to work at the same pace to achieve more successes and achievements desired in this regard.
On the occasion of the International Day of the Conservation of the Ecological System of the Managrav forests, which falls on July 26 of each year, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm adherence to preserving the environment and its balance, by continuing to support international endeavors to address the challenges of climate change, by doubling the Crimean trees and increasing green areas in various governorates of the Kingdom, which contributes to achieving the obligations of the Kingdom of Bahrain to reach the carbon neutrality by 2060.
His Highness added that the “Crimea Bahrain” initiative and the national afforestation plan embodies a developmental commitment that reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to consolidate the balance between the requirements of urban growth and the preservation of the environment, by integrating environmental considerations in the comprehensive urban planning system, which contributes to enhancing afforestation and expanding green spaces in various regions, noting that His Highness is that this trend represents a major pillar in building sustainable cities Environmental systems, ensure the continuity of natural resources to serve the present and meet the aspirations of future generations.
His Highness pointed to the prominent role of societal partnership in providing national efforts and supporting the directions of the Kingdom of Bahrain in achieving the environmental balance by enhancing environmental societal awareness and encouraging all members of society to adopt practices that contribute to preserving environmental resources and ensuring their sustainability, stressing that preserving environmental security is an investment for a sustainable future that guarantees a balanced and healthy environment for future generations.
