A Yemeni journalist offers his college for sale to pay his debts after “his arrival to a dead end”

The announcement of the prominent Yemeni journalist Anwar Al -Amiri, his intention to sell one of his two colleges to pay his debts, a shock and widespread sympathy among Yemeni journalists and activists.

Al -Amiri had published an influential statement in which he announced that he had exhausted all his material capabilities and relations, and everyone, including government officials and friends, abandoned him, after his debts exceeded 12 thousand Saudi riyals.

Al -Amiri, who held leadership positions in the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, and was one of the founders of the Moral Guidance Department, in his painful message, that he had reached a “dead end”, expressing his surprise at the absence of support even from the official authorities that were collected by years of work and joint giving.

Al -Amiri announced the social media platforms, as many journalists and activists expressed their solidarity with him, and denounced the government’s ignorance of the suffering of national and media figures.

Some of them demanded the launch of an urgent solidarity campaign to help Al -Amiri, and they called for donations to pay his debts and be considered.
