Bloomberg news agency reported today (Saturday) that the United States is seeking to prevent a Ukrainian draft resolution in the United Nations condemning Russia because of the war.
She added, quoting its sources, that the allied countries of the United States believe that peace cannot be achieved without guarantees for the sovereignty of Ukraine and holding the aggressor state accountable.
The Wall Street Journal quoted diplomats as saying that Washington intends to launch a draft resolution in the Security Council on the war of Russia and Ukraine different from the Ukrainian draft.
According to the diplomats, the American draft resolution in the Security Council may take place next Monday, on the third anniversary of the Russian -Ukrainian war.
Diplomats also said that the US and Ukrainian draft decisions may be raised to vote at the United Nations General Assembly.
Later, the American envoy to Ukraine Keith Kelog said that Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski “realizes the critical nature of the economic deal with America, and the need to end this war with a permanent peaceful settlement.”
Kelog added on the X platform that US President Donald Trump wants peace in Ukraine and is committed to that.
