Why We Increase CDAs Grants- OGSG

Ogun State Government says, the impacts of the Community Development Associations (CDAs) self-help projects, geared towards improving living standard of the people, necessitated the increase in the grants given to them.

The State Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperative Hon. Gbenga Adenmosun, who disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Abeokuta, said activities of the associations in complementing government’s developmental efforts, prompted the increase from N50 million to N72 million, to further boost their activities.

Adenmosun explained that the grant was increased as a mark of appreciation by the State government to the CDAs, in order to bring government closer to the people, saying, “no amount of money will quantify all the projects and efforts of all the CDAs in the State but the increment in grants is just to ensure and assure them that government appreciates what they are doing’’.

Adenmosun stated that government had also ensured that people at the grassroots benefitted from its numerous programmes such as; empowerment, agricultural and health, to make them self-reliant.

He however, enjoined CDAs in the State not to relent in their efforts, rather keep supporting the government in order to sustain the socio-economic development of the State.
