Inter Tribal Marriage Enhances National Unity – Amosun
The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described a successful marriage as one built on love, prayers, tolerance and understanding between the husband and wife.
Amosun stated this in Abuja during the wedding ceremony between the Daughter of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Amanda Mustapha and Telema Westwood.
Represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, the Governor felicitated with the SGF and congratulated the newly wedded couple and admonished them to be steadfast in prayers, love and respect one another, adding that the inter tribal marriage between the couple was good for the unity of the country.
In his remark, Chairman of the occasion and Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, decried the high rate of divorce in the society, calling for strong marriage institution that would bring about strong and united societies.
The ceremony had in attendance, President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Senators, serving and former Governors, APC chieftains and other well meaning Nigerians.
