Ogun Trace Boss admonishes Motorists on Safety measures

The Corps Commander, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), ‘Seni Ogunyemi has called on motorists  to always concentrate while driving, as well as, adhere to traffic rules, in order to reduce accidents on the road.

Ogunyemi, who stated this while fielding questions from Journalists in his office, said, in view of the incessant road crashes in the State, enlightenment programme was imperative for motorists and other road users, on safety measures.

He urged drivers to avoid making assumptions about the intentions of other road users, but alert other drivers by effectively using the indicators, noting that most road accidents were as a result of carelessness on the part of motorists.

‘’I sincerely believe most of these accidents are man-made. The gods are not to blame. We must strive to imbibe the culture of doing things right and stop shifting blame of our negligence on the unseen forces’’, he said.

While advising motorists to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition at all times, the TRACE boss advised drivers to always  use of the seat belt, avoid the use of mobile phone while driving, cooperate with traffic managers and obeying traffic regulations, would go a long way in reducing crashes on the roads.
