Two Die, Five Injured In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash

No fewer than two persons have died while five others sustained injuries on Monday June 13, 2022 in a crash involving two vehicles: A Toyota Haice Bus with registration number GMT 641XL and Benz Truck, KSF 320XX on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In a statement by the Superintendent Route Commander and Public Education Officer, FRSC Florence Okpe, 20 Male passengers were involved in the crash out of five persons sustained injuries injured and two died.

The Corps blamed the crash on excessive spend, dangerous driving and loss of control by the Toyota Haice car driver which made him rammed into the moving truck ahead of him.
The statement adds that the injured victims have been taken to a private hospital in Mowe while the dead bodies have been carried away by the family.

The Sector Commander FRSC Ogun has once again cautioned motorists against excessive speed and dangerous driving, pointing out the rate at which many commercial drivers disobeyed some common driving rules is alarming. He however warned that any vehicle especially commercial vehicles caught without speed limit device will be sanction accordingly.

He commiserated with the bereaved family of the crash victims and advised them to contact mowe unit Command for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered from the scene of the crash
