Think beyond Certificates for Ideas – Adekunle Makinde, FNSE

Engineers have been admonished to think beyond their certificates for ideas that can give money – making opportunities both online and offline.

This was said by NIEEE Past National Chairman, Engr. Adekunle Sunday Makinde, FNSE, FNIEEE during February 2021 online technical presentation of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) Abeokuta Chapter titled “Emerging trends in Entrepreneurship – Opportunities for Engineers”.

During his presentation, Makinde advised entrepreneurs not to wait for an idea they are passionate about, if they are truly passionate about entrepreneurship. The well – attended online technical session was used to share information and knowledge on the evolution, innovations and Emerging Trends in Entrepreneurship. Also, goldmine of opportunities in starting small scale businesses as entrepreneurs were shared at the technical session.

In their separate remarks, NSE Deputy President Engr. T.S.G. Wudil FNSE, NIEEE National Chairman Engr. Adeyemi Kings FNIEEE, NSE Vice President, Engr. Adeniran Ibitoye Felix Kilomodemo FNSE, Engr. Segun Adedeji, FNSE, Engr. Adekunle Adebajo, NIEEE Maitama Chairman commended the NIEEE Abeokuta for organising the online session and the Guest Speaker for an insightful presentation. They advised all to take the advantage of the emerging trends in entrepreneurship.

In his welcome address, the Abeokuta Chairman of NIEEE, Engr. Olumayowa Idowu said Abeokuta Chapter organized the session in order to improve the skills, understanding and knowledge of entrepreneurs. “As a Chapter that focus on enhancing professional competence of her members, we believe there is need to critically look at entrepreneurship development tonight”, Idowu said

Earlier before the technical session, the Chapter held her physical monthly general meeting where the new executives rolled out their programmes for the year 2021 and had good interactive sessions with her members.
