Government’s Commitment to Citizens Welfare Unwavering – Gov. Abiodun


Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says no stone will be left unturned to ensure adequate welfare of citizenry, as machineries had been put in place for improved livelihood.
Abiodun gave this assurance at a leadership capacity building conference organised by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, with the theme, “Overflowing Grace”, held at the Deeper Life Camp, Sam Ewang, Abeokuta.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, enjoined members of the body of Christ to join hands with the government towards realisation of the vision to take the State to the next level.
“Our government is committed to the welfare of the citizens and overall development of the State, so that at the end of our tenure, we will all be in a better place, with improved prosperity at all levels. We have pledged times without number that our government is for the whole of the State.
‘’We shall continue to provide quality leadership, transparency and accountability to all citizens of the State and provide them with unhindered access to opportunities”, he promised.
Abiodun noted that, in fulfilment of his electioneering promises, a state of emergency has been declared in the education sector, with on-going rehabilitation of schools across the State, as well as improved Primary Health Care services, to enable people have access to better healthcare system, while interest free loans were given to women to support their trade.
He added that the major challenge presently being faced was the deplorable condition of roads across the State, which the Public Works Department had commenced immediate repairs.
The Governor however advised participants at the programme that capacity building cannot be separated from the church, workplace or family, tasking all religious bodies to continue to come up with initiatives that would improve their members’ welfare and make them better leaders and citizens of the State.
Earlier in his welcome address, The Director General, Leadership Capacity Building Conference (LCBC), Apostle Daniel Olufemi, said the training was imperative in order to effectively handle specific assignments, as well as making people adequately supply the measures expected of Christians.
Also speaking, the State Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State Chapter, Apostle David Otaru, said the conference paraded arrays of seasoned resource persons drawn from all fields, to make it a truly holistic one, urging participants to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the conference.
