Over 30,000 Less Privilege Benefits From Social Health Insurance Scheme – Amosun

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has disclosed that, over 30,000 less privileged are benefiting from government’s Social Health Insurance Scheme every year, with N6, 000 per person as premium, annually.

The Governor made this disclosure at the flag off of a 4-Day Medical and Surgical Mission Programme, held at Comprehensive Health Centre, Totoro, Abeokuta, in partnership with Trinitas, Tristate, Codix Pharmaceutical Company and Red Cross.

Amosun, who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, stressed the need to promote better structures that would make health system affordable and accessible to majority of the less privilege, calling on more partners to work together to move the State forward.

In his address, the Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, represented by Director Administration and supplies of the Board, Mr. Timothy Olatunji, appreciated the State government and Trinitas Health Centre for the giant step to see to the welfare of the people, noting that treatment will be free for all during the 4 Day medical mission.

In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries, Mrs. Okonkwo Margret and Mrs. Monisola Oladeinde said the hospital has being of great assistance to them, describing the hospital environment as friendly.
