Our Support for Security Agencies remains unwavering – Ogun Deputy Governor

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has said the present administration in the state led by Prince Dapo Abiodun would continue to give necessary support to security apparatus in the state with a view to ensure continued security of lives and properties of its citizens.

Engr Salako-Oyedele  stated this while playing host to Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State command, led by its newly deployed  Commandant Kolawole Taiwo in her office at Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

The Deputy Governor said that NSCDC is an integral part of the security architecture in the state, expressing governments gratitude for the selfless service the command is rendering in securing government assets and people of the state as a whole.

While maintaining that men of the command should continue to exhibit professionalism geared at  finding a lasting solution to the security challenge currently plaguing the nation, she recalled that at inception of the present administration, the Governor revamped the security trust fund towards providing the needed impetus for security agencies In the state to succeed.

On security in its institutions of learning, Engr Salako-Oyedele said “as we key into the safe school initiative across the country, we look forward to working with you to keep our children safe because our government is particularly concerned about the safety of our students in their learning environments”

In his remarks, the State Commandant, NSCDC Ogun Command, Mr Kolawole Taiwo, said the command is ever ready to give necessary security coverage to the citizens of the state as well as the assets of the nation, adding that the command has keyed into the safe school initiative with a view to providing necessary security for students in various schools in the state, especially now that the country is experiencing security challenges such as kidnapping and banditry.

In a related development, the Commanding Officer, Federal Fire Service, Ogun State command, Controller Muibi Rebecca, who led her team on a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor’s office, has commended the state government for his developmental projects across the state, saying the command is working tirelessly to ensure safety of lives and properties.

While noting that from January till date 45 fire incidences had been attended to, she appealed for more support from the state government to enable the command discharge it duties effectively.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, while playing host to members of the Association of Model Islamic Schools  (AMIS) Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter in her office, said education was one of the five pillars of the Agenda of the Governor Dapo Abiodun administration, revealing that the Governor was not only concerned in infrastructural developments, also in welfare and capacity building of its teachers.

While imploring the Association to continue to work with the regulatory agencies to ensure the schools are up to standard, she assured them that government would not hesitate to do anything that would improve the standard of education in the state.

Responding the Associations Vice Chairman, Mallam Elias Kehinde, said the association would continue to support this administration through prayers in order to enable it achieve the goal of changing the face of the education sector in the state.
