Olufemi Olumide: NSE Abeokuta commiserates with Engineering family

The entire members of Abeokuta Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has commiserated with the entire engineering family on the sudden passage of our highly revered Engr. Real Admiral Olufemi Olumide (Rtd), OFR, mni, FNSE who passed on peacefully on 6th August, 2020 at his Abeokuta residence at the age of 82.

In a Statement signed by the Branch Chairman, Engr. Dr. Olanrewaju Ahmed Apampa, FNSE, he said Olumide was a trailblazer, an inspiration and a mentor par excellence. “Pa Olumide paid a significant role in the growth and development of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Engineering Profession, particularly during his time as Federal Commissioner of Transport, at a time COREN (then Council of Registered Engineers) was established and being nurtured”,  Apampa said.

Apampa further said that Late Olumide was a pillar of moral and financial support for Abeokuta Branch and always honoured the branch with his presence at major occasions of the branch.

He implored his immediate and the entire engineering family to find solace in his good works and ensure that his legacies are carried on.

May the soul of Engr. Rear Admiral (rtd) Olufemi Olumide rest in perfect peace. Amen
