Ogun@45: Abiodun Hails Amosun, Osoba, Daniel For Transforming Ogun

The Ogun state governor, prince  Dapo Abiodun has hailed the  Former Governors  of the state, senator Ibikunle Amosun, Gbenga Daniel and Olusegun Osoba   for transforming the state through various developmental achievements recorded during their various tenures

The governor disclosed this during a state wide broadcast to commemorate the 45th anniversary celebration of the state. Recall that on February 3, 1976, the then Head of State, General Murtala Muhammed announced in a nationwide broadcast, the creation of seven new states to increase the number of states in Nigeria from 12 to 19.   Ogun State, one of three states created from the old Western State, comprising all the six States in the present day south west Nigeria, is a fusion of the old Abeokuta/Egbado and Ijebu/Remo divisions of the defunct Egba and Ijebu

Abiodun submitted that Osoba, a renowned journalist  marked a remarkable achievement  and opened a new chapter in the development of the state.

He added that Osoba made a remarkable achievement in governance and also delivered democratic dividends to the people.

The governor also said that Daniel’s  administration would  be remembered for rapid industrialisation and economy developments particularly blazing the trail of the increase in Internally Generated Revenue.
He commended Amosun,  saying he approached the task of governance with determination and zeal to consolidate the gains of the past.

“Sen. Ibikunle Amosun,  my immediate predecessor in office approach the task of governance with determination and zeal to consolidate the gains of the past and chat a course for further infrastructural development of the state.

“All of you once again on behalf  of the people and government of Ogun state  , I say thank you ,” he said.

The governor noted that the state had grown to become one of the most viable state in Nigeria
“We have grown our IGR to become the first among state rated along with us .

” We are the fastest growing investment and commercial designation  , not only in Nigeria but in entire West African sub region attracting one of the highest foreign direct investment and local investment.

“I will deepened the legacies inherited from my predecessors ,” he said.

He appealed to the citizens to stay away from all forms of violence.

Abiodun called for more support, cooperation and prayers towards the continued development of the state .
