WATER CORPORATION BOOSTS WATER SUPPLY, REPLACES OLD PIPE

The Ogun State Water Corporation says it has replaced old water pipes destroyed during the construction of drainages at Degun Area of Ijebu-Ode, with new ones, to further boost supply of portable water to residents in the area.

The General Manager, Engr. Monsurat Agboola, who made this known during a supervisory visit to the site of the project at Ijebu Ode, assured that people in the area would soon begin to enjoy regular water supply, as over 94 pipes, which span over one kilometre, has been laid.

According to her, areas to benefit included; Odo Egbo, Bonojo, Osimore, GRA, Onirugba, Ota Street, Araromi, Awokoya and Eka Street, promising that government would also look into other areas before the end of the present administration.

‘’The ongoing pipe laying from Degun would travel through the dedicated major line from Odutola reservoir into Ijebu town, all things been equal, the job would be completed as soon as possible because all hands are on deck’’, Agboola said.

Appreciating the State government, a trader at the Eja Osan market in Degun, Mrs. Yemisi Adekoya said on completion, the project would assist in solving the water problems of the people in the area.
