Ogun Traffic Agency Appoints 7 New Area Commanders

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has appointed seven new Area Commanders, in a bid to guarantee safety of lives and properties of road users who regularly make use of the roads within the State.

The Commander of the agency , Commander. ‘Seni Ogunyemi  made this known at the decoration ceremony of  304 newly promoted officers and men, at the Valley View Auditorium,on Monday in Abeokuta

The agency boss explained that, the promotion was also in  bid to ensure sanity and as well safe and responsible driving which is devoid of carnage on the state traffic,adding that the need to understand and appreciate the dynamics of modern traffic management, with its attendant challenges on safety of lives and property of the general public, especially the motoring public, in an economic investment driven state like ours, has made it incumbent on TRACE Corps to rise to the challenge by deploying seasoned and knowledgeable traffic managers as Area Commander’s along the Ogun Traffic Corridor.

Ogunyemi  said it is  to bring their wealth of experience in operations and logistic to bear, in order to arrest the perennial traffic snarl, loss of man hour on the road, clearance of encumbrances, obstructing human and vehicular traffic and road traffic crashes, so as to ensure prompt rescue of victims during emergencies.

The traffic boss  reiterated that the establishment of the  7 Area Commands, under the supervision of 7 Area Commander’s would further enhance the core mission of the Corps, which is anchored on effective and efficient service delivery, geared towards promoting operational efficiency and enhance commerce through sustainable investment growth.

Ogunyemi, added that the impact of the  Corps Community Based Traffic Management Scheme would also be better felt at border towns and communities, where road  safety education awareness is low and needs to be drive and pushed.

The 7 Area Commander’s and their Area Commands are; Cdr. Omonayajo Elias. O. Area Commander 1 (Lagos-Ibadan Expressway-Ogun State Boundary); Cdr. Ajibose Abayomi. O. Area Commander 2 (Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun-Interchange-Papalanto-Ilaro-Ibese); Cdr. Rosanwo Marcus. O. Area Commander 3 (Ijebu/Ode-Ilese–Ijebu/Igbo-Ibadan Higjway-Ogun Boundary); Cdr. Ajibade Adekunle. A. Area Commander 4 ( Ota-Atan-Oke/Odan- Agbara-Idiroko-Ipokia-Ogun Boundary) ; Cdr. Abiola David. Area Commander 5 (Sagamu-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ode Expressway-Ogun Boundary); Cdr. Filani Morolake.W. Area Commander 7 ( Adatan-Odeda-Ibadan Highway-Ogun Boundary) and Cdr Akinkunmi Ebunoluwa. A. Area Commander 9 (Abeokuta-Ifo-Owode/Ijako).

However,  Cdr. Adedeji Teslim. A. Area Commander 6, would supervise Headquarters, Divisional Command Abeokuta, Divisional Command Rounder/Mile 2 and Divisional  Command, Aiyetoro, as Area Commander Headquarters, while Cdr. Abdul Monsuru.O. Area Commander 8, is the Area Commander, Training and Public Education, Headquarters.

The Commander said their  appointments takes  immediate effect.
