Ogun To Construct Solar Plant For Ogun Poly

Ogun State Government says it will provide the newly established Ogun State Polytechnics Ipokia with a 345 Watt Solar Panel to enable the institution enjoy 24 hours power supply.

Consultant to the Governor on Power Generation, Hon. Segun Gbeleyi disclosed this while speaking at the allocation of five hectares of land for the Independent Power Producer (IPP) approved for Generating Power for the institution.

Gbeleyi, added that Sholep Energy Company was one of the 12 Independent Power Producers approved by the State Government expected to generate 5Mega Watt of electricity using 345 Watt Solar Panel which is the first of its kind in Nigeria and West Africa.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Sholep Energy Company, Engr. Olalekan Adeleke Sogbesan, said the company could deliver and generate power  within the 1st quarter of 2018, assuring that the power generated would serve the institution, the host community and the neighbouring communities.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Dosu Amos expressed delight over government’s determination at promoting socio-economic development of the area.
