Ogun Police Warn Motorists Against Disobeying Traffic Rules

Ogun State Police Command has expressed dismay over the rate at which Motorists and Motorcyclists are driving against traffic whenever there is traffic gridlock on Highways especially on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police described the attitude as part of what accounts for many avoidable road traffic accidents with attendant consequences

The Police while describing the recent accident at Obada Oko where a Tipper Driver drove against traffic and crushed three persons to death as unfortunate, have directed DPOs, Area Commanders and traffic officers across the state to go out for the recalcitrant drivers who are in the habit of driving against traffic otherwise known as One way drive with a view to arresting such erring drivers for punishment.

The statement adds that any driver caught will also have his or her vehicle impounded and subsequently prosecuted
