OGSG Sensitizes On Protection Of Public Assets

Ogun State Government has called on residents to always protect government assets, as they were put in place for the good of all.

The State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye made the call while addressing newsmen after inspecting the level of damage done to the palm trees planted by the state government on the road median along NNPC-Leme road, Abeokuta.

Oyeleye who decried the nonchalant attitude of some members of the public towards government property, said the plant was to beautify the environment, urging the people to be watchful and protect their environment against any vandal, as ‘’government’s assets are for all.’’

The Commissioner who inspected the uprooted palm trees in company of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kunle Osota, called on members of the public to be watchful and report perpetrators of such act to the Ministry of Environment for appropriate action by calling 08023206961.

Mr. Oyeleye highlighted the core mandates of the ministry to include; protection, maintenance and development of the environment, assuring that the ministry would not relent in its duty to protect the environment.
