OGSG to Introduce Micro-Credit Scheme for Women traders – Gov. Abiodun

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has disclosed the plan of his administration to introduce a Micro-Credit Scheme for women traders where they would have opportunities to grants, to trade without going through the stress of raising funds from financial institutions. The Scheme is to be tagged “Okowo Dapo” and the enumeration of people who are qualified to benefit from the program would soon begin.

The Governor made this known at the 2019 International Widows Day Celebration held at June 12 Cultural Center, Kuto, Abeokuta. The programme with the theme: ” Renewed Hope For Widows” was organised by the wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun.

Abiodun made it known that the hosting of the event was a symbolic demonstration of his administration’s commitment towards the welfare of the people, and so he enjoined the people to be patient with our government.

He further disclosed that his government is committed towards eradicating the rate of unemployment among youths in the state, assuring that the process to enable his government to establish a Job Creation and Youth Employment Agency is in line. The agency which would be the first of its kind in the state would be charged with the responsibility of creating a portal that would have the database of all youths across the state, and the process would capture their skill sets and also find for them, matching employments.

“Local Content Policy would be enforced to ensure that companies that comes into the state employ citizens of the state, adding that artisans would also not be left out.” he said
