Nigerian Television Authority honours Staffers over hardwork

The reward of commitment and hardwork has brought smiles and joy to the homes of three staff of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, following honour bestowed on them, having being identified by the management as competent and dedicated officers.

The honored staffers include: Oluwaseyi Jiboku who received the Manager’s Award, Anuoluwa Taiwo got the Staff of the month award (January 2019) and Engr. Olumayowa Idowu as the 2018 staff of the Year Award.

The ceremony supported by Penpushing Media and Airtel Network was held during the monthly children’s zodiac party held at the premises of the Nigerian Television Authority(NTA),Ogbe, Abeokuta and chaired by the Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun,CON, FCA, who was ably represented by the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Barrister Adeoluwa Taiwo

Penpushing further reports that, the General Manager of the Station, Funmi Wakama while speaking on the awards, said this was in line with the philosophy of the Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority(NTA), Mallam Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, that deserving staff in all stations nationwide must be appreciated and rewarded.

‘The management of NTA Abeokuta came together to sift through the contributions of staff to our efforts at turning the station around. Using certain criteria, like those who have made superlative contributions and we come up the final list’, she explained.

“The Staff of the year award was unanimously agreed upon by management should go to the Engineering staff who single handedly created and maintains the station’s website and other social media handles including live streaming of the station’s News and special programmes with his personal resources for over 2years’, Wakama stated.

Penpushing also reports that Wakama stated that, the General Manager’s Award went to a staff, who in spite of been in Finance/Audit Department has brought several products and brokered many deals for the Station. Mind you.

The station boss disclosed that, the staff of the month award, went to a film editor, the only one in the station, who she said has been working round the clock, adding that in the month of January, he even performed some exceptional feats; editing till the dead of the night to meet deadlines.

‘These should not go unrewarded, rather should serve as impetus to other staff to work harder knowing that people are watching. Now, they know that you have to go beyond the call of duty, the usual 9 to 5 kind of thing’.

The General Manager also used the occasion to express appreciation to the sponsors of the awards, which include; Penpushing Media and Airtel Network, ‘let me quickly appreciate sponsors of the awards; Airtel Network and Penpushing Nigeria, an Online publication” she added.
