Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensure an economic independence and a happy retirement life to retirees, saying it has offset all monthly pensions of the State retirees.

The Co-ordinating Director, State Pensions, Mr. Femi Ogundimu, who made this known while presenting the Bureau of State Pension Board 2019 budget proposal to the House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, led by Hon Victor Fasanya, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, maintained that the present administration had paid all monthly pensions till date, promising to offset backlog of gratuities, as soon as fund was available.

He noted that the Bureau proposed to spend the sum of N20bn for retirees’ entitlements in 2019, out of which pension would gulp N9.68bn, while N10.32bn would be for gratuity.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Victor Fasanya commended the Bureau for a job well done, urging it not to relent in the coming year.
