Multiple Crash Along Isara Bridge, Ogere, Claims 11 Lives
No fewer than Eighteen unidentified persons out of twenty five people were burnt beyond recognition while seven others sustained various degrees of injuries Saturday evening, July 2, 2022 in a crash involving three vehicles which later resulted in fire outbreak on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, before Isara Bridge, Ogere
A statement by the FRSC Public Education Officer, SRC Florence Okpe says the incident which the Ogun State FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar described as avoidable if traffic rules and regulations were complied with was caused by excessive speed and dangerous driving.
The statement adds that the injured victims were evacuated immediately and taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention. However, one of the victims was rejected and later taken to Babcock University Teaching Hospital.
The statement says fire service, Sagamu was contacted and the Corps also diverted traffic to Lagos-Ibadan bound of the Expressway to avoid obstruction while the crash scene was equally corned to avoid secondary crash.
The Sector Commander who is deeply pained by the Incessant crashes on Ogere area which make the area a crash prone zone, commiserates with the bereaved families and pray God to grant them the strength to bear their losses.
