LG ELECTION: Ogun places restriction on movement

Ogun State government says there will be a statewide restriction of movement on Saturday July 24th from 7am to 4pm for the smooth conduct of local government election throughout the state.
In a statement by the State Commissioner for Information and strategy, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odusile, the nine-hour restriction was at the instance of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) which is conducting the councillorship and Chairmanship elections in all the two hundred and thirty six wards across the twenty local government areas in the state.
The statement however allows voters to move to their polling centers within their neighborhood and cast their ballots for the candidates of their choice during the period of the restriction.
The statement also urged the electorate to be peaceful and orderly and avoid any act that could tarnish the hard-earned reputation of Ogun State as one of the most peaceful states in the country.
