Gov. Abiodun pays New Minimum Wage to Workers

Workers in Ogun State have received minimum wage increase with their October salary.
It would be recalled that the State Government had an agreement with the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) to effect the new mimimum wage .
Some of the lower level officers got as much as 100% salary rise, while those on higher grades got “substantial increment’.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Abdulwaheed Odusile said it’s another promise kept.
Odusile therefore enjoined workers to be up and doing and dedicated to their work so that they can have the Ogun State of their dreams.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress, Ogun state chapter Comrade Emmanuel Bankole has described the payment of the new minimum wage as commendable and a welcome development.
He appreciated the Governor  for fulfilling his promise on the new minimum wage and reassured the Governor of the unalloyed loyalty and support of workers to his administration.
He noted the payment of new minimum wage to civil and public servants will greatly motivate the workers for enhanced productivity and efficiency .
