NSE Abeokuta Awards Outstanding Engineers

THE Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta branch, Ogun State, has honoured three of its members for their outstanding performance and contribution to the upliftment of the body in the
state.

At the award ceremony, held as part of the fourth edition of the branch’s Engineering Week, held between Saturday, February 17 and Thursday, February 22, 2018, chaired by the NSE President, Engr. Adekunle Mokuolu, represented by Engr. Akintayo Akintola FNSE. The Federal Controller of Works, Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing, Engr. Dr. Joshua Olukayode Popoola, was honoured with Outstanding Achievement Award; former Acting General Manager, Ogun State Television (OGTV), Engr. Bamidele Olugbenga Bolujoko was honoured with Distinguished Service Award; and Engr. Olumayowa Idowu of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), was
honoured with Outstanding Service Award.
During the presentation, the Branch Chairman, Engr. M.I. Abbass FNSE lauded the selfless service of the recipients to the prestigious society and Engineering profession at large.  The award, presented by Prof. Mrs. Kehinde Taiwo of Obafemi Awolowo University was described as a well deserved by all the attendees.
The Branch event, which coincides with the 60th Anniversary of the NSE, was also used to induct 80 new members into the prestigious corporate membership of the NSE, and creation of zebra crossing at the FCE Model School/Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School/Saint Mary Primary School, all along Camp- Osiele road, Abeokuta, as part of her Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
