Former Governor Amosun donates operational vehicle to NTA Abeokuta

Former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has donated a pick up operational vehicle to Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, to assist the station in the discharge of its responsibilities in journalism practice.

Penpushing reports that, the Izuzu pick up model TF-140  was handed over to the management of the station by Alhaji Bola Adeyemi on behalf of the former governor, at a ceremony held at Ogbe headquarters of the station in Abeokuta.

The Governor while presenting the white colour vehicle, with Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) logo inscribed on it said, ’please accept my donation of a new IZUZU pick up model l TF-140’

‘This is to serve as operational vehicle for NTA, Abeokuta. I will be responsible for the registration of the vehicle. I hope that the vehicle will assist the station in the discharge of its responsibilities’, the donor stated.

Penpushing further reports that, the General Manager of the station, Funmi Wakama in letter of appreciation by the management wrote, ’On behalf of management and staff of the Nigerian Television Authority, Abeokuta, I wish to formally extend our sincere gratitude to Your Excellency for the donation of a utility vehicle, and other numerous support to the station’

‘Let me assure you sir, the vehicle will go a long way in alleviating the transportation problem faced by our organization. Your kind gesture is highly appreciated sir. Please accept the assurances of my warmest regards’, Wakama wrote

The General Manager earlier in her speech, highlighted some modest achievements since she assumed duty as the General Manager of the station which include; facilitation of 12 panel solar power borehole by Ogun Osun River Basin Development Authority

*Facilitation of the donation of 3 vehicles to the station by public spirited Nigerians: Nissan Micra by NTA Abeokuta Pioneers Forum; Toyota Camry donated by Sweet Estate Unique Properties;

 

* Restoration of public power supply to Ogbe after 9 years of black out, successful migration into non – linear transmission of news and programmes transmission and commencement of 24 hours transmission on Startimes Platform and setting up Digital Media Platforms for broadcasting (NTA Abeokuta Social Media platforms)

*Placement of NTA Abeokuta mobile app on google playstore and approval with google adsense on the website,  Regular payment of salaries for out – sourced staff, re -roofing of Oke Egunya studio building

*Upgrading of transmitter vision output from 0.9KW to 3.3KW and Sound from 0Watts to 340Watts in January 2018. This we have suspended due to paucity of funds, installation of internet services (wifi) both at Ogbe and Oke Egunya, coverage of 12 Live Events in 2018 and sponsorship of staff for conferences and in- house training for staff

* Purchase of numerous computer systems for operational use, commencement of staff of the year and month award as directed by Director General, Mallam Yakubu Ibn Mohammed,prompt payment of 25% fiscal responsibility and other statutory dues,procurement of generating sets and creation of synergy with public and private broadcast organizations which include Penpushing media

Penpushing also reports that, Wakama said the list of the station’s success stories knows no bound ‘as God has helped us to achieve so much within this short period of time, adding that the latest was the donation of  a Isuzu Utility Vehicle by the immediate past Governor of Ogun State and now serving Senator, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator, Ibikunle Amosun.

Before I conclude, I want to solicit the support of all towards the upgrading of this great broadcasting station, set up, to serve the interest of the government and good people of Ogun State.
