Novak Djokovic: beats Thiem for Madrid final

World Number One Novak Djokovic overpowered Austrian Dominic Thiem, in two sets to qualify for the finals of the Madrid Masters, where he awaits the winner of the second semi-final between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Rafa Nadal.

Thiem, who beat Swiss great Roger Federer in three sets in the quarter-finals on Friday, found Djokovic more difficult to crack as the two sets went into a tie break.

Djokovic, playing his 64th Masters semi-final prevailed 7-6(7-2) 7-6(7-4).

The match lasted over two hours, 20 minutes.
