CSCSD Visits Governor Abiodun
CIVIL SOCIETY COALITION ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (CSCSD) VISITS OGUN STATE GOVERNOR PRINCE (DR) DAPO ABIODUN ON 2ND INSTANCON -2019 SDG.
As part of the ongoing preparation for the forthcoming 2nd International Stakeholders Conference on Sustainable Development Goals 2019 (INSTANCON-SDGs- 19) with the Theme: “Localizing the SDGs at Sub-National Level in Nigeria: Gains, Opportunities & Challenges,” being put together by the Local Organising Committee of the CSCSDG National office led by its Board of Trustees Chairman Rev. Father John Patrick Ngoyi paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of Ogun State and his team in furtherance consolidation of the Committee planning and implementation of programs of events.
Others in the Government crew are the Secretary to State Governor Dr Tokunbo Talabi, the Chief of Staff Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu and the Head of Service, Alhaji (Engr) Lanre Bisiriyu while many of the Governor’s Special Adviser and Consultants were Present.
On the part of the CSCSDGS are Professor (Mrs)Helen Bodunde, Mr Tola Adenekan, Professor (Mrs) Comfort Onifade, Professor (Mrs) Olubunmi Ashimolowo, Mr Sina Adefolahan, Mr Tayo Akinpelu, Mr Olatunji Ola-Davies, Mr Segun Adesina.
The SDGs INSTANCON 19 shall take place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto Abeokuta, Ogun State between Monday October 28th and Friday November 1, 2019 and shall be declared open on Tuesday 29th October,2019 by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
This year National Conference shall attract Participants from the 36 states of the federation and 10 countries outside the shores of the Nation. While Six wives of Governor’s have confirmed their participation, Four Executive Governor’s had already confirmed their attendance. Keynote Speaker of this year conference is Professor Gunther Bachmann member Council for Sustainable Development, Germany while Dr Fatima Denton, Director United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa shall be the Lead Speaker.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a 17 Global agenda, adopted by countries in 2015, with a vision of ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. … The Goals and targets are universal, meaning they apply to all countries around the world, not just poor countries.The Conference shall be sharing experience and knowledge on SDGS achievements.
