Chief Obasanjo describes Late Sunday Mbang as a fearless activist

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described the late Methodist Prelate, His Eminence Sunday Mbang as a pious man, a true critic and fearless activist who fought for the pursuit of the common good of Nigeria.

In a statement by the Special Assistant to the former president on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Chief Obasanjo said the death of Mbang is a colossal loss to him personally and the country at large, noting that he was an advocate of justice for the vulnerable, a constructive critic of Nigeria’s political economy, a model and an example for Christians.

The former President added that Mbang demonstrated his faith in the oneness and greatness of Nigeria and savoured his prayerful support for the country when he served as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to complete the National Christian Centre, Abuja.

He condoled members of Mbang’s family his friends, Associates People and Government of Akwa Ibom State and wished him a perfect rest in with his Creator.
