Amosun Appreciates Society Group, Bags Man Of The Year Award

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has appreciated society groups in the State for putting smiles on the faces of people, irrespective of their religious or political leaning.

Speaking at the 10th Anniversary of Bobakeye Club and presentation of Awards of Honour to deserving Egba sons and daughters in Abeokuta, the Governor said the club in the past years had contributed immensely in improving living standards of Egba indigenes, thus assisting government in meeting the needs of the people.

Amosun who bagged the Club’s ‘’Man of the Year Award’’, assured that the recognition would further spur him to do more for the State, appreciating the group for complementing government’s effort to make life more meaningful for the citizenry.

‘’Let me in a special way thank and appreciate the entire members of the Bobakeye Club of Egbaland for their innumerable contributions at complementing government efforts by providing life-transforming dividends of democracy to the people of Egbaland, and the State at large.  So far, you have all done very well. This is one of the ways we should assist government to achieve stated objectives because government cannot do it alone’’, Amosun said.

In his address, President of the Club, Bobakeye Lukmon Atobatele, informed that the club, a non-partisan and non-tribal organisation, was established about 10 years ago, to strengthen the bond of kingship, spirit of brotherhood as well as uphold diversify in dialects, culture and religion in the society.

Atobatele hinted that the club had been partnering with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, to bring succour to the underprivileged children of the Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home in Abeokuta, adding that machineries have been set in motion to give scholarship to two motherless children of the home, from primary to University level.

Speaking on the state of projects across the State, Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, who also bagged the ‘’Egba Leadership Award’’, noted that work has resumed in many project sites across the State, reassuring that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration was  committed to completing all the projects, including the on-going work at the Alake’s Palace in Abeokuta.
