Al-Nassr Saudi Club has decided its position on the participation of its Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, against Goa, India, in the third round of the group stage in the AFC Champions League 2, scheduled to be held next Wednesday at Fatorda Stadium in India.

Indian Goa requests Ronaldo’s presence

The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya explained that the Indian Goa Club asked Al-Nasr management to confirm that Ronaldo would accompany the team delegation traveling to the city of Margao to play the match, but the Saudi club ignored this request.

For his part, Ravi Boskur, CEO of the Indian Club, stated that the victory mission will include 85 individuals, and all players have obtained entry visas, including Ronaldo, noting at the same time that this does not necessarily mean that the Portuguese star will be on the traveler list.

Boskur stressed that Ronaldo’s presence will make the confrontation “the biggest in the history of Indian football,” pointing out that there are sponsorships and advertisements ready to be activated as soon as the player’s participation is confirmed.

Portuguese Jorge Jesus, Al-Nassr’s coach, decided to exclude Ronaldo from all of the team’s matches in the group stage of the continental championship, to give him a rest during the season, which led to his absence from the first two matches against Istiklal Dushanbe of Tajikistan and Al-Zawraa of Iraq.

A special season presented by Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been performing at exceptional levels with Al-Nasr since the beginning of the current season, and contributed to 6 goals during the 6 matches in which he participated, where he scored 5 goals and assisted another.

“The Don” led his team to qualify for the Saudi Super Final, after scoring a goal in the semi-final victory over Al-Ittihad, 2-1. He also scored a goal in the final match against Al-Ahly, before losing the title on penalties.

The Portuguese star also participated in 4 other matches in the Saudi League, during which he scored 4 goals, and only failed to score in one match against Al-Khuloud in the second round.
