Engineer Mohamed Talaat, head of the Mobile Division at the Chambers of Commerce, revealed the fate of mobile phone prices in Egypt, after increasing gasoline and diesel prices by about 2 pounds per liter and stabilizing prices for a year.
Head of the Mobile Division: There is no increase in local phone prices and transportation costs are very slight
The head of the Mobile Division of the Chambers of Commerce said, in a statement to Cairo 24, that the prices of all mobile phones will not be affected by the movement in the prices of petroleum products, adding: The costs of transportation expenses will move at a negligible rate and companies will not resort to raising prices due to a slight increase in transportation costs.
Talaat explained that there are 14 factories in Egypt that manufacture mobile devices with the highest capabilities that citizens are looking for, pointing to the role of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in attracting major international companies for manufacturing from Egypt.
He stated: The decline in the price of the dollar against the pound to levels close to 47 pounds supported the manufacturing process in Egypt, with incentives provided to manufacturers to support local manufacturing.
