The opening session of the second legislative term of the Senate began, based on the President of the Republic’s call for the Senate to convene.
The opening session of the new Senate begins
Representative Muhammad Abu Al-Ela, head of the Arab Nasserite Party, chaired the opening session, being the oldest member, which will witness the new members taking the constitutional oath.
Representatives Muhammad Tariq Naseer and Ahmed Khaled also served as assistant chairmen of the opening session, as they are the youngest members, as they are not more than 35 years old.
The opening session will witness the members taking the constitutional oath to begin exercising their role in the Senate, which reads as follows: “I swear by Almighty God to faithfully preserve the republican system, to respect the constitution and the law, to fully take care of the interests of the people, and to preserve the independence of the nation and the unity and integrity of its lands.”
The President of the Republic issued Resolution No. 580, which was published in the Official Gazette, calling on the new Senate to meet in the second legislative term next Saturday.
