Several educational departments in Giza Governorate issued decisions to expel hundreds of students from the first and second grades of secondary school, due to them exceeding the prescribed absence rates during the last period, within the framework of the commitment to implement the rules governing school discipline.
In the Omraniya Educational Administration, the following were separated:
(43) students from the first year of secondary school (Arabic boys)
(73) students from the second year of secondary school (Arabic boys)
(22) students from the first year of secondary school (experimental)
(35) students from the second year of secondary school (experimental)
A number of other students whose absence rate was close to the permissible limit were also given expulsion notices.
The administration called on parents to quickly communicate with schools to find out the final position of their children, and the necessary procedures to preserve their right to complete their studies and not lose the year’s work.
In the Dokki Educational Administration, 55 male and female students were dismissed at various educational levels, including students in the primary and middle schools, and 45 students from the first and second years of secondary school, due to repeated absences, failure to adhere to the school uniform, and committing some educational violations.
The Al-Haram Educational Administration also announced the dismissal of 60 students from the first and second grades of secondary school, after they exceeded the prescribed absence rates in accordance with ministerial instructions.
In Sharkia Governorate, the developed Najou Al-Arab Secondary School decided to expel 25 male and female students, for exceeding the legal period of absence, and called on parents to quickly review the students’ affairs to complete the procedures.
Tightening the school discipline
Following these decisions, educational administrations stressed the importance of adhering to school discipline, students’ commitment to daily attendance, wearing the uniform, and avoiding any behavioral violations inside or around the school.
Clear instructions have also been issued to all schools regarding the necessity of the following:
Accurately recording attendance and absence daily
Applying the educational discipline regulations to all students
Taking legal action against repeated absences
Follow up on compliance with school uniform
Enhance daily supervision
Activating school activities that contribute to building the student’s personality
The administrations stressed that discipline in attendance and behavior is a shared responsibility between the school and the guardian, and that adherence to the rules guarantees the success of the educational process and supports the stability of the study.
