The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning confirmed that the purpose of the proposal to reduce the installments for beneficiaries of housing units for retirees has actually been achieved, explaining that the installments are being rescheduled based on the retirement salary so that it does not exceed a quarter of its value, taking into account the conditions of citizens after retirement. For its part, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning stated that the purpose of the proposal has already been achieved, through the Ministry calculating the monthly installment for citizens based on the value of the retirement salary, by rescheduling the monthly installments so that they do not exceed a quarter of the salary. The Ministry indicated that the monthly installments resulting from housing services are originally government-subsidized installments, as the citizen is not charged the cost of paying the comprehensive actual value of the housing unit, but rather the construction value of the housing unit is calculated, while the value of the land and infrastructure is not calculated as it is free government support for the citizen.
On the other hand, the government reduction in monthly housing installments is applied, so that 25% of the retirement salary is calculated, and in the event of the retirement of the beneficiary of the housing unit, the monthly installment is calculated based on the value of only a quarter of the retirement salary, even if this value is less than the installment due for that service. This is in consideration of citizens and their financial situations after retirement, noting that the housing system offers the option of postponing monthly installments for beneficiaries who face exceptional emergency circumstances, if the standards regulating that are applied, in accordance with the text of Article (78) of Resolution No. (909) of 2015 issued regarding the housing system.
