The new book by author and journalist Adel Al-Sanhouri was published by Batana Publishing and Distribution House under the title “Half Halim Al-Akhir”.
In his new book, the author deals with analysis and interpretation of the artistic battles fought by the brown nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez, as a result of which he was subjected to many rumors and accusations, as Halim appeared in them with a different face that was completely different from his human stances with his family, friends, colleagues and lovers in the artistic community and outside it.

Journalist Adel Al-Sanhouri says that, during his long artistic career, Halim fought many justified artistic battles, which angered many artists, even his closest friends, and they all ended in reconciliation, because they revolved around art and singing, which revealed the ferocity of Halim, the good orphan human being.
He added: Despite his absence, there are still many stories about him, and the memoirs and conversations of some artists of his generation are full of secrets about their relationship with him. Halim fought many battles in order to remain at the top of singing in Egypt and the Arab world, and he resorted to all the tricks, methods and tools that made him the first knight of song, and the stories in this field are many. He entered into artistic and personal battles even with the planet of the East, Umm Kulthum and Farid Al-Atrash. And Muhammad Rushdi, Warda, and Najat, and with his closest friends to his heart, Al-Tawil and Al-Muwaji, and yet there is still an absent dimension in explaining these battles that he fought, even from the psychological aspect.
The author believes that Halim fought in every direction until he became king on the throne of romantic, popular, and patriotic singing. He expressed, with his personal and artistic intelligence, love in its truest and most wonderful forms, and the rising and rising nation in the face of challenges, and in the battles of construction and development, Nasser’s voice in the Egyptian and Arab streets, and the voice of Arabism in international forums. Indeed, Halim died and his art lives on, immortalizing him, and he still stands tall with his voice and honesty. The artist and his love for his art are in the hearts and consciences of millions of Egyptians and Arabs until further notice, which may not come.
Al-Sanhouri confirms: Halim was not just one side of an artistic golden coin. There was also another face of great splendor, sacrifice, and love for everyone around him. He was “Halim’s other half,” which many may not know, simply as the brown nightingale. He is that special magic mixture of his artistic battles and his dazzling humanitarian stances. That is his special appeal until now.
