On Wednesday, Reuters quoted an American official as saying that planning is underway to form a force to support stability in Gaza, without forcing its residents to leave the Strip.
The agency explained that a senior American advisor stated that “the idea of establishing safe zones in response to reports of executions carried out by Hamas was welcomed by Israel.”
He added, “The United States seeks to establish stability in the Gaza Strip, and that planning is underway to form an international force and send it to the Strip.”
The advisor confirmed that “the force concerned with achieving stability in Gaza has begun to form,” and pointed out that “no resident of the Gaza Strip will be forced to leave.”
The official pointed out that “several countries have expressed their willingness to participate in the stabilization force in Gaza, including Indonesia.”
The advisor stated, “Very positive talks are taking place regarding ensuring the arrival of aid to Gaza.”
He also stressed that the funds for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip will not go to areas controlled by Hamas.
Regarding the return of the remains of the remaining hostages, the American advisor said: “We are doing our best to recover the largest possible number of bodies,” suggesting the establishment of “a program offering rewards to help find the remains of the hostages.”
He stated that Hamas “intends to abide by the agreement regarding the return of all the bodies of deceased hostages in Gaza.”
