A source close to the Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker revealed to Cairo 24 that Lebanese Army Intelligence recently completed the preliminary investigations with the artist, and referred his entire file to the military judiciary to continue legal procedures.

The source confirmed to Cairo 24 that the Public Prosecution has already begun reviewing the investigation file, in preparation for transferring it to the competent military court, to determine the date of his first trial session during the next few weeks, in one of the most controversial cases within the Lebanese artistic and political community.
The background of the case goes back to the accusations leveled against Fadl Shaker years ago, against the backdrop of his association with the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Assir group, and his participation in the Abra events, which witnessed confrontations between the Lebanese army and armed elements in 2013, and resulted in the fall of a number of martyrs in the ranks of the armed forces.
Fadel Shaker had repeatedly denied his direct participation in any military or hostile action against the Lebanese army, stressing that he was carried away by extremist religious discourse during a period of his life, but he later withdrew and returned to his civil and artistic life.
For his part, Fadl Shaker issued a statement during the recent period in which he revealed his innocence, as the statement came in the media in which he revealed the details of what he described as the injustice to which he was exposed over the course of more than 13 years, confirming his innocence of the charges against him, which he said were the result of settling narrow political scores.
Fadl Shaker said in the statement: I am innocent, and the judiciary was right, in absentia. I was acquitted of fighting with the army, and the ruling was published in the media. I ask those concerned to deal with my file as an ordinary citizen, because 99% of my problem will be solved once the political dimension of my case is removed.
Fadel Shaker surrenders himself to Lebanese intelligence
In a few hours, Lebanese media outlets previously revealed the artist Fadel Shaker’s decision to surrender himself to the judiciary, after being subjected to harassment by Islamic groups in the Ain al-Hilweh camp.
The Lebanese media said: A force from the Lebanese Army Intelligence received Fadl Shaker in the Ain al-Hilweh camp, after he agreed to surrender himself.

Fadel Shaker had recently released the song “Rooh Al-Bahr and Sahak Al-Shouq”, which achieved widespread resonance among the audience, after releasing the song “How are you on my parting”, a clip of which he shared on his Instagram account, commenting: “The moon is upon us… and you are alone, I don’t want time to pass, oh moon.”
