The past few hours have witnessed a large number of senior Zamalek players communicating with board officials in order to intervene forcefully to resolve the financial crisis within the team, which may ravage the team’s career if it continues.

Cairo 24 learned from its sources that the senior players decided on their own to intervene to resolve the crisis, realizing their responsibility within the club, especially since blame will fall on them if the results deteriorate, indicating that the current crisis clearly affects the players’ focus and greatly occupies their minds.
The source added that more than one player contacted more than one official within Zamalek, led by Hussein Labib, the club’s president, to play a strong role with the team in the current period and not to leave John Edward, the sports director, alone to face the financial crisis and the anger of the players.
The source continued that the players assured Zamalek officials that these financial crises will affect the team’s results in one way or another, especially since the players have become completely preoccupied with the matter of financial dues, and therefore there must be a decisive solution to this matter.
Zamalek players are suffering due to not receiving their financial dues, as they received a small portion in the last period and received a promise to pay another portion in the next few hours, but so far nothing new has happened in this file.
Zamalek is preparing to face Dekedaha of Somalia, at six in the evening on Saturday, October 18, in the first leg of the 32nd round of the Confederation Cup at Cairo International Stadium, while the return match will be held on the 24th at Al Salam Stadium at six in the evening.
