Red Juniors faces Oman in a friendly match in Manama

Our national under-17 football team will host the Oman junior national team, in two international friendly matches on the 16th and 19th of this October, as part of the preparatory program that the team is undergoing in preparation for the qualifiers in China in the period 22-30 of next November, which qualifies for the finals of the AFC U-17 Cup.

The team continues its preparations on a daily basis at the external stadiums of the Bahrain Football Association, under the leadership of Croatian coach Ugo Klingor, with the assistance of the assistant technical staff consisting of assistant national coach Khaled Hassan, fitness coach Albert Rebak, goalkeeping coach Muhammad Matar, and second assistant and translator Ali Farhan, as part of the preparatory plan drawn up by the technical staff, which aims to raise the players’ readiness at the technical level. And physical before competing in the continental eligibility.

The two friendlies come as an important stage in the national team’s preparation process, as the technical staff seeks to assess the levels of the national elements and equip them in the best way, amid great aspirations to achieve positive results and compete for a ticket to qualify for the Asian finals.

The team played in the Gulf Cup under-17 tournament in the Qatari capital, Doha, last September, and the same month also witnessed the team playing two matches against the Singapore team.

It is noteworthy that the draw for the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 Asian Cup placed the Bahrain junior national team in the first group alongside the “host” teams of China, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, East Timor and Sri Lanka.
