The battle for chairing the House of Representatives committees was decided today

The House of Representatives announced the nominations of representatives for the five specific committees, without any change from what the committees were in the next round, and indicated that the committee elections will be held immediately after today’s session.

The Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee is witnessing preparations for internal elections between the Chairman of the Committee in the last round, Representative Mahmoud Fardan, who announced his intention to run again, and Representative Abdul Hakim Al-Shanno, who is discussing his desire to compete. While the competition in the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee is focused between the Chairman of the Committee, Representative Ahmed Al-Salloum, and his deputy, Muhammad Al-Maarafi, while Representative Basma Abdel Karim announced her desire to run as well.

The Parliamentary Services Committee is heading towards a competition between three candidates: Representatives: Munir Sorour, Muhammad Al-Aliwi, and Mahdi Al-Shuwaikh. In the Public Utilities and Environment Committee, Representatives Muhammad Janahi and Hanan Fardan expressed their desire to run, and indications indicate the desire of a number of members to renew confidence in former President Representative Badr Al-Tamimi, or to nominate Representative Khaled Bu Anq.

In the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, the competition for the presidency of the committee is limited to the Chairman of the last round, Representative Dr. Hassan Bukhammas, and Representative Dr. Maryam Al-Dhaen.

In the last session, the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee was formed with Representative Mahmoud Fardan as Chairman, Ali Al-Dosari as Vice-Chairman, and Mohsen Al-Asboul, Abdul-Hakim Al-Shanno, Hisham Al-Asheri, Muhammad Al-Ahmad, Jalal Kadhim, and Ali Al-Nuaimi as members. The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee was formed of MP Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum as “Chairman”, Muhammad Al-Maarafi as “Vice-Chairman”, and the membership of Iman Shweiter, Zainab Abdul Amir, Najeeb Al-Kuwari, Muhammad Al-Rifai, Basma Mubarak, and Abdullah Al-Dhaen.

The Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee was composed of: Dr. Hassan Bukhammas “President”, Hassan Ibrahim “Vice-President”, and the membership of Walid Al-Dosari, Maryam Al-Dhaen, Jamil Mulla Hassan, Maryam Al-Sayegh, and Abdullah Al-Rumaihi.

The Services Committee included Representative Jalila Al-Sayyid as Chairman, Muhammad Al-Aliwi as Vice-Chairman, and members of Lulwah Al-Rumaihi, Abdul Wahed Qarata, Mahdi Al-Shuwaikh, Mounir Sorour, and Mamdouh Al-Saleh. While the Public Utilities and Environment Committee was formed of MP Muhammad Musa as Chairman, Badr Al-Tamimi as Vice-Chairman, and Hisham Al-Awadhi, Hamad Al-Dawi, Hanan Fardan, Khaled Bu Anq, and Muhammad Janahi as members.
